Raushan Tara Jaswal

Raushan Tara Jaswal is a lawyer, academic, researcher, and admissions mentor with extensive experience guiding students through highly competitive graduate admissions and scholarship applications across the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, and beyond. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean at Jindal Global Law School, O.P. Jindal Global University, while pursuing her PhD in Law — and as a Visiting Researcher at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, having been selected as one of only two researchers worldwide for the position.

She completed her integrated Bachelor of Arts and Law at Amity Law School, Delhi (Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University), focusing on international and corporate law, before going on to earn her LL.M. in International Law at the University of Cambridge as a Commonwealth Shared Cambridge Trust Scholar. She was also admitted to Stanford Law School.

Early in her legal career, Raushan worked with a former Union Law Minister and a Senior Advocate, focusing on human rights, corporate litigation, and policy research. She was instrumental in advancing significant national and international human rights causes — including asylum protections for Rohingya refugees in India, the dignity of the elderly, and the abolition of custodial torture. Her research during this period centred on refugee law in South Asia and the role religion plays in India's asylum decisions, alongside a body of published work examining how technology intersects with civil and political rights.

Her current research has shifted toward international environmental law, climate justice, climate finance, ESG regulation, and constitutional environmentalism — approached largely through the lens of Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL). She has authored and co-authored numerous publications in leading journals, edited volumes, and policy reports on climate governance, Arctic governance, sustainable finance, and environmental constitutionalism, with forthcoming work appearing through Springer, De Gruyter Brill, Brill, and IGI Global.

Alongside her academic and legal career, Raushan has mentored students and professionals into admission and scholarship offers at Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Oxford, Cambridge, and numerous other top-ranked universities across the US, UK, Europe, Canada, and Asia — spanning LL.M., JD, MPP, MPA, MBA, MiM, MSc, and other interdisciplinary graduate programmes. Having personally navigated some of the world's most competitive admissions and scholarship processes herself, she brings a perspective few admissions consultants can offer: she is still, actively, inside the system she mentors applicants into.
